Money, Money, Money.
" I work all night, I work all day, to pay the bills I have to pay
Ain't it sad
And still there never seems to be a single penny left for me
That's too bad
In my dreams I have a plan
If I got me a wealthy man
I wouldn't have to work at all, I'd fool around and have a ball."
Those were the lyrics from " Money, Money, Money " by Abba. The song talks about the necessity of money in our lives. The singer complains that she works so much yet she has nothing left after she pays the bills. She wished that she would marry a rich man so that she would not have to worry about such issues.
But does money really matter that much? Not so. Everyone needs to eat, a place to live and clothes to wear. We all need money to possess such items. Be it that 7000 dollars Valentino dress or even that 1.7 million dollars Bugatti Veyron. That is why money has become the first goal in life for almost everybody. However, money is sometimes worthless when it comes to other things. That is why money is never a yardstick used to define one's success or happiness.
One important thing that defines success in our lives is our careers. With different careers, we will have different goals and measurements of our success. If you are an athlete, your success can be measured by lots of things such as wining tournaments, breaking records, playing in the top league or competing in the Olympics. If you are a student, your success can be measured by perhaps obtaining the President's Scholarship or graduating with honors from Harvard. So another measurement of our success in live is how much we succeed in our careers. There are also people who want and have a job that earns them a great deal of money but sees their work as a drudgery.
One's success might be measured by how happy and satisfied they are with their lives. The richest man in the world probably is not the happiest man. Though money can bring you a certain amount of happiness, it cannot get you someone who truly loves you or true friends who stand by you.
Talent and hard work also determines one's success. Money probably cannot earn you a Nobel Prize but your talent and hard work can. Many famous figures such as Picasso and Einstein were impaired in one way or another, but they developed their talents and became the long-remembered individuals of our time. These famous figures are real examples of people who worked hard to produce some of the most expensive art pieces ever and to discover many scientific equations we use in our present day.
In conclusion, the measurement of success in your life can be many things and not just money. It is up to each individual to discover what they think constitutes to their success.

Innovative compo with a lot of examples. Though it is a bit long.
imba Alfie! I liked how you used lyrics in the beginning, great work - as with the rest of the essay (: Your approached each topic neatly and appropriately IMO, and you don't have tense or spelling mistakes - which is pleasing to the eye. Keep up the good work, ya?
your thesis statement is clear yet bot specific. your sopic sentnce linked back to the thesis statement except for a few quite unclear. your paragraphs have great points linking back to the topic sentence in every paragraph.
It is very interesting for u to start ur essay using a poem. The stucture of essay is very organised and words used is good.
Kepp up the good job alfie!!!!!!!!!!
What happen to your introductory paragraph?
The song don't seem to be linked to your essay.
Thanks Fong Sin, noted the lack of relevance and did some minor edits to the introduction. Do take a look. :)
