T1W1: JOURNAL

Ever wondered why sometimes your parents are so harsh on you? Especially concerning work and future aspirations? Well, I personally feel that it's partly due to the world being obsessed with competitveness and also due to the fact that the parents want their child to be an achiever.

Little do they know that the workload in school is often stressful enough, trust me, I know best. To add on to the somewhat insane workload, there's tuition classes, which not only means time for homework gone but also more homework. Parents should consider putting themselves in their children's shoes before inundating them with work.

When children refuse to do so, the parents would resort to all sort of methods to coerce their children into doing what they have "thoughtfully" planned out. Usually, things turn out to be fruitless. Because the child is reluctant to do so, but they have to because of their inhumane parents. Sporadically, the child might even slacken in his work because he/she is so stressed up by the pressure from parents and teachers alike.

The bottomline is that parents should not act rashly and remember that it's important not to stress your child too much because you have no idea what it is like in school.
